I was very excited. I had been promised a fish for Christmas, and I was finally going to get one!
I set out with my family to go find a fish. We went to Pets Plus first, where I had to decide between two tiny goldfish or a betta fish. We asked the pet shop employees to help us decide. I chose a betta fish. Unfortunately, they had just run out of betta fish. So we left and headed to Unleashed.
Unleashed was a store by Petco. We thought they carried fish, but they only carried supplies for pets. So here, we bought a tank and pellets for my future fish and left.
We drove all the way to San Juan Capistrano, where Petco: Supplies and Fish could be found. We finally saw betta fish, and the pet shop employees told us much of the info I've told you. We got a blue male veiltail betta fish. And then we left, quite happy. It was sunset by then, so we were also exhausted. And then we started the preparations.
The preparations were beginning. I named the fish Eragon. We conditioned the water and took our plastic tank. We filled it with gravel and placed a plastic plant inside. We took some of my glass "jewels" and arranged it on top of the gravel. We just had to wait for 36 hours.
And so, the day after that, we placed the happy Eragon in his new tank. And he's been there ever since.
